Responsibilities

  • Conducts individualized patient assessments and prioritizes care.
  • Monitors patient conditions and delivers timely treatments and medications.
  • Performs nursing interventions with appropriate age/cultural considerations.
  • Provides patient/family education tailored to needs and plan of care.
  • Documents findings and progress in the EMR and communicates with the team.
  • Initiates emergency resuscitative measures per ACLS protocols and observes safety.

More than 2,500 team members at more than 70 Tidelands Health locations bring our healing mission to life each day.A Brief OverviewThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members.What you will doConducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by policy along with collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.Performs appropriate treatments and administrations of medication, immediate and ongoing, as ordered by provider in an accurate and timely manner.Performs therapeutic nursing interventions and delivery of care with appropriate age and cultural competence as established by individualized needs/plan of care for the patient and their family.Provides individualized patient/family education customized to the patient and his/her family.Documents patient condition, assessment findings, and physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols.Maintains confidentiality as well as providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights.Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to providers and other staff during shift change.Education QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Nursing (ADN). Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) RequiredBachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
