Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Oklahoma City is seeking an RN Educator & Infection Preventionist to lead education programs and infection prevention initiatives. You will oversee orientation, training and the annual Infection Control Plan, ensuring alignment with quality improvement processes.

The role requires a current RN license, a BSN/associates pathway, and at least 4 years of nursing and infection prevention experience, with rehabilitation background preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
• BLS Required
• At least 4 years of nursing experience required
• Previous Education or Infection Prevention preferred
• Previous Rehabilitation experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates education programs and staff orientation.
• Evaluates educational needs through QI programs and annual needs assessments.
• Supports educational activities with hospital's quality improvement process.
• Develops the Infection Control Plan and reports findings to leadership.
• Reports infection surveillance and prevention information to hospital staff.

How You'll Contribute

A RN Educator & Infection Preventionist who excels in this role:

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates education programs and orientation of staff, students, volunteers and contracted nursing staff.
• Evaluates educational needs of staff through various methods including QI programs, safety occurrence monitoring, changes in patient population served, and annual needs assessment.
• Supports and aligns educational activities with best practice initiatives and hospital's quality improvement process.
• Develops the annual hospital wide Infection Control Plan; evaluates the effectiveness of the program and reports findings to leadership and appropriate committees.
• Assures systems are in place to report infection surveillance, prevention and control information to hospital staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
