Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital in Oklahoma City is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Educator & Infection Preventionist for a full-time, days position. You will develop and oversee clinical education programs, orient new nursing staff, and lead infection prevention initiatives across the hospital.

The role requires a current RN license, a BSN or higher preferred, and at least four years of nursing experience with infection prevention or education. BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school.
• Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
• BLS Required.
• At least 4 years of nursing experience.
• Education or Infection Prevention experience preferred.
• Rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate education programs and orientation of staff, students, volunteers and contracted nursing staff.
• Lead infection prevention efforts and develop the annual Infection Control Plan; evaluate effectiveness and report to leadership/committees.
• Ensure systems are in place to report infection surveillance, prevention and control information to hospital staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

If you are passionate about advancing clinical excellence and patient safety, the RN Educator & Infection Preventionist role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organization. In this position, you will assume responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, including the clinical orientation and development of new employees. You will also lead infection prevention efforts by developing and overseeing the annual Infection Control Plan, evaluating program effectiveness, and reporting outcomes to leadership and key committees. How you'll contribute

A RN Educator & Infection Preventionist who excels in this role:

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates education programs and orientation of staff, students, volunteers and contracted nursing staff.
• Evaluates educational needs of staff through various methods including QI programs, safety occurrence monitoring, changes in patient population served, and annual needs assessment.
• Supports and aligns educational activities with best practice initiatives and hospital's quality improvement process.
• Develops the annual hospital wide Infection Control Plan; evaluates the effectiveness of the program and reports findings to leadership and appropriate committees.
• Assures systems are in place to report infection surveillance, prevention and control information to hospital staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license andpossessa bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additionalrequirements include:
