Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Pre-Admission Testing Department to support our mission of compassionate, faith-based care. The role emphasizes patient and family education across the continuum of care and the use of evidence-based practices.

The ideal candidate has an accredited nursing program degree, Maryland RN license, a valid NCLEX pass, and at least 1 year of RN experience, with BLS certification and specialty-area ACLS/PALS/NRP as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care, incorporating guidance from senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as a role model to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices.
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to ANA standards and Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency.
• Develop a care plan based on patient population and needs.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Pre- Admission Testing Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will:

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while also striving to advance their own knowledge and skills through careful consideration of feedback and guidance provided by more senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adheres to ANA standards of practice, and exemplifies the Adventist HealthCare values as they fulfill our nursing mission and vision.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, to delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition accurately and initiates corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct efficient literature searches and applies findings appropriately to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participates in change of practice based on evidence.

Work Schedule:

Pay Range:
