Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Nursing Float Pool. This role provides critical care coverage across multiple Med Surg units, promoting high-quality patient care and collaboration with diverse care teams.

The ideal candidate will have ICU experience, a board-certified nursing program graduate, an active RN license, BLS, and strong clinical judgment, with a BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific as applicable).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to adapt across multiple units.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered critical care using the nursing process, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice—monitoring complex patient conditions, administering treatments, and adapting care across multiple Med Surg settings.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across units to drive optimal outcomes—promoting safety, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting communication and delegation, and maintaining flexibility to meet patient care needs.

This role offers the flexibility to expand your clinical expertise while collaborating with diverse care teams in a leading academic medical center committed to excellence and professional growth.

We’re Looking For

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to adapt across multiple units

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
