Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Nursing Float Pool at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. This role supports critical care across multiple inpatient units, delivering patient-centered care with evidence-based practice in a leading academic medical center.

Requirements include graduation from an approved nursing program, active RN license (multi-state compact as applicable), BLS, and at least 2 years ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific as applicable).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to adapt across multiple units.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered critical care using the nursing process across Med/Surg units.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive patient outcomes and maintain documentation.

We’re Looking For

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to adapt across multiple units

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

What You’ll Do

• Deliver safe, patient-centered critical care using the nursing process, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice—monitoring complex patient conditions, administering treatments, and adapting care across multiple Med Surg settings.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across units to drive optimal outcomes—promoting safety, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting communication and delegation, and maintaining flexibility to meet patient care needs.
