Job summary

Advocate Health’s Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for its Med Surg Float Pool. You’ll deliver patient-centered care during 12-hour night shifts, across multiple inpatient units, adjusting to census needs and care demands while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program.
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient nursing experience.
• Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific as applicable).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to adapt across multiple units.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered care across Med Surg units using the nursing process, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across units to drive optimal outcomes, promote safety, maintain documentation, and support communication and delegation.

We’re Looking For

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing–approved nursing program
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient nursing experience
• Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact and/or state-specific as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to adapt across multiple units

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

What You’ll Do

• Deliver safe, patient-centered critical care using the nursing process, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice—monitoring complex patient conditions, administering treatments, and adapting care across multiple Med Surg settings.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across units to drive optimal outcomes—promoting safety, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting communication and delegation, and maintaining flexibility to meet patient care needs.
