Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN Labor & Delivery role in Lancaster, SC. You will provide safe patient care and support, educate families, and assist with routine postpartum duties.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license (SC or compact) and BLS. At least 1 year postpartum and nursery experience is preferred; shifts are rotating and hours vary.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and RN license (SC or compact).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 1 year of Womens Postpartum and Nursery experience required.
• PRN availability: at least 12 hours bi-weekly; shifts may vary.

Job Description

Registered nurses (RNs) are responsible for providing safe, competent patient care, educating patients and their families about health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their families.

Experience

Women's Postpartum and Nursery experience required.

PRN Status Clause

This is a PRN as‑needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi‑weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse required. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
