Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the CCU in a full-time night position. This in-person role requires active state RN licensure and a nursing degree from an accredited school. ACLS/PALS within six months and BLS within 30 days are expected.

New grads are encouraged to apply and will enter our residency program. The CCU team delivers high-level critical care with physicians, nurses, and support staff, focusing on patient safety and evidence-based

Qualifications

• Current RN license and associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• BLS within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred; new grads welcome with 1-year residency program.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

The CCU team consists of highly skilled critical care nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary support staff dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care. Services include hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, cardiac drips, emergency response stabilization, and post-intensive procedural care. The unit is committed to promoting optimal patient outcomes while supporting patients and families through critical and complex healthcare situations.

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse, RN who excels in this role:

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs


• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings


• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care


• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record


• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.


• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.


• One year of experience preferred new grads encouraged to apply and will be supported through our 1 year residency program


• ASLS certification preferred
