Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the CCSD unit. This full-time night position offers in-person work and a mission-driven team focused on high-acuity care.

You will assess patients, initiate care plans, and document care in the medical record, supporting complex cases post-illness or procedures. A valid RN license and relevant certifications are required or pursued within set timelines.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required.
• Associates or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

The CCSD Unit at Raleigh General Hospital provides specialized intermediate-level care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing support following critical illness, cardiac events, surgical procedures, or complex medical conditions. This fast-paced unit bridges the gap between intensive care and medical-surgical services, caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and other high-acuity diagnoses. Nurses on the unit are skilled in cardiac monitoring, post-procedural care, telemetry interpretation, medication management, and patient/family education.

How you'll contribute

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
