Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory to join our Cath Lab team. You will provide direct patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with care teams.

This full-time day shift requires TN RN license (or compact), BLS, and at least one year hospital experience. We offer comprehensive benefits, continuing education, and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires Tennessee RN license or compact state with Tennessee paperwork within 30 days of hire.
• Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited school.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• One year of hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current Tennessee or compact state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Experience: One year of hospital experience preferred.
• Licenses: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with the proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
• Education: Associate’s degree required.

Highpoint Health – Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 157‑bed facility that includes 131 licensed acute care beds and 26 skilled nursing home beds. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services supported by a qualified and diverse medical staff. Key services include a 10‑bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 12‑bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, and a 12‑bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit. The facility also features a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, five Operating Rooms, and two Endoscopy Suites.
