Job summary

Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cath Lab to provide direct patient care during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You will prep patients, assist physicians, monitor recovery, and participate in post-procedure care.

Qualifications

• Cardiac Cath Lab experience required or preferred.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Active North Carolina RN license (or compact) required.
• 3+ years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, ICU, CCU, or ED preferred.
• If relocating, licensure must be updated to new PSOR before employment

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
• Prepare patients, assist physicians during procedures, and provide post-procedure monitoring and recovery.
• Incorporate the latest technology, imaging techniques, and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, technologists, and the interdisciplinary team to enhance patient safety, comfort, and outcomes.
• Manage complex cases with hemodynamic monitoring and conscious sedation.

Maria Parham Health's experienced heart catheterization team performs procedures using balloons, stents, and other devices to open blocked, or repair damaged blood vessels of the heart or body. This often avoids the need for heart surgery.

Procedures and treatments offered are Diagnostic imaging and pressure measurements, balloon angioplasty, clot extraction, fractional flow reserve measurements, intra-arterial ultrasound, temporary pacemaker insertion, stent insertion and intra-aortic balloon pump/circulatory assist device insertion.

Summary

Provides direct patient care in the Cath Lab Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Director or Manager of Cath Lab Department

• Manage complex cases with precision, hemodynamic monitoring, and administration of conscious sedation.

What We're Looking For

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program; (BSN preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (required)
• Three years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, ICU, CCU, or Emergency Department preferred
• Active North Carolina RN license (single state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins
