Job summary

Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT, is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for Bliss 10i in the Heart and Vascular Institute. This full-time night shift position (EOW/EOH) focuses on high-acuity cardiac care and complex monitoring in a Level 1 trauma center environment.

Ideal candidates hold a CT RN license,BSN, BLS and ACLS with telemetry experience; cardiology/critical care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CT RN license required at hire.
• Graduate of accredited nursing program (BSN required).
• BLS, ACLS and Arrhythmia Certification required prior to hire date.
• Telemetry experience preferred (1 year).
• Cardiology/critical care/progressive care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing in Bliss 10i unit for cardiac patients.
• Monitor patients with telemetry, pacemakers, IABP, etc.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
• Maintain Hartford HealthCare values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity and Caring.
• Ensure patient safety and participate in education and quality initiatives.

This is a posting for Bliss 10i, a twelve-bed unit within Hartford HealthCare's Heart and Vascular Institute. The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit's population primarily consists of patients with myocardial infarctions, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, and post-cardiac arrest. Registered Nurses (RNs) are trained in the use of specialized equipment to monitor and treat these patient populations. Some of these are: transvenous pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, temporary ventricular assist devices, pulmonary artery catheters, and targeted temperature management. The unit works closely with the Cardiac Catherization lab, Electrophysiology department, and the Cardiovascular Surgical Team.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association, ACLS certification, and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• Minimum one year Telemetry experience strongly preferred.
• Previous Cardiology, Critical Care and/or Progressive Care experience preferred.
• In exceptional circumstances, candidates with an ASN/ADN may be considered for employment.
