Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for Bliss 11 ICU at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. The role features a permanent night shift, 36 hours per week, and a hospital-wide commitment to exceptional patient care and teamwork.

Eligible candidates hold a CT RN license, a BSN, and BLS certification, with one year of acute care experience preferred. ADN/ASN may be considered; Graduates can apply via the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing in the ICU, delivering high-quality patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians, PAs, APNs and the health-care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

This posting is on Bliss 11 ICU, the Medicine Intensive Care Unit is a 16-bed unit that provides care to patients with a wide range of complex, highly acute medical issues. These issues include but are not limited to; respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver injury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, and drug and alcohol withdrawal. Under the supervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist, the unit is staffed 24 hours-a-day with a team of Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, and medical house staff physicians consisting of interns and residents.

In the Medicine ICU, our goal is to develop our staff into well-rounded, highly skilled medical professionals. The unit will push you to your limits as you will be working in a fast-paced environment where your critical thinking, vast medical knowledge, clear communication, and your extensive skillset will be challenged and grown.

In Critical Care, our Registered Nurses (RNs) are highly skilled and trained; helping to provide expertise at the bedside and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. • Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
• Minimum one year acute care Registered Nurse experience strongly preferred.
• In exceptional circumstances, experienced RNs with an ADN/ASN who are currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
• Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
