Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Holding unit. You will prep and recover Cardiac Cath, VIR, and EP patients in advance of procedures, following the nursing process with ACLS-competent care.

Shifts are two 10-hour days; no weekends or nights. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. The department hours are 05:30–20:30, Monday through Friday, with rotation to maintain competency.

Qualifications

• RN degree or diploma required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• ACLS required prior to orientation.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• 1–2 years Cath/EP Lab, Emergency Department or ICU experience; cardiac step-down experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Pre/post care for Cardiac Cath, VIR and EP patients.
• Prepare and recover patients for invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures.
• Perform nursing duties according to nursing process and standards of care.

Hours: Two 10-hour shifts

Cardiac Cath Holding

As a Pre/Post nurse in Cardiac Cath Holding , you will be responsible for prepping and recovering cardiac Cath, VIR, and EP patients in preparation for invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures. ACLS required, srong cardiac background preferred . Operational hours of the department will be 0530 -2030 Monday - Friday. Candidates will be expected to rotate shifts within the operational hours in order to maintain competency in all aspects of care both pre and post procedure.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Experience
