Job summary

UT Health Tyler is seeking an evening shift, full-time Cardiac Pre/Post/PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiac Cath Lab team. The role focuses on direct patient care for adults and geriatrics, with Cardiologist assistance during procedures and exposure to imaging modalities and ionizing radiation.

On-call availability is required, with the ability to respond within 30 minutes. Texas RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory to qualify for this role.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Texas RN License.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for a group of patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Assist Cardiologist with procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including studies and interventions.
• Care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing cardiac procedures.
• Ionizing radiation and imaging modalities used in procedures.
• On-call duty required with response within 30 minutes.
• Direct patient care during procedures in the Cath Lab.

UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our Midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who uses the nursing process to provide and direct patientcare for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
• The Cardiac Catheterization Registered Nurse assiststhe Cardiologist with procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab. This includes both Cardiovascularstudies/interventions as well as Special Procedure studies/interventions.
• The patient population contains adults,and geriatric patients.
• Ionizing Radiation is utilized to perform these studies as well as other imaging modalities.
• On-Call is required and the employee must be able to respond and arrive in the Cath Lab within 30 minutes.
• The Registered nurse is responsible for direct patient care during the procedure.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified.
