Job summary

UT Health Tyler is hiring a day shift, full-time PACU Day Surgery Registered Nurse (RN) in Tyler, TX. You will provide direct patient care using the nursing process for a group of patients in the post-anesthesia care setting.

Qualifications include ADN, Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS within 90 days, TNCC/ATLS/TCAR within 1 year, airway management skills, and ASPAN standards knowledge. Preference given to PACU/ICU/ER experience.

Qualifications

• ADN required; Texas RN license active.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
• TNCC/ATLS/TCAR within 1 year of hire.
• Airway management knowledge.
• ASPAN standards knowledge.
• Pediatric/Adult Phase 1 and Phase 2 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide and direct patient care using the nursing process in the PACU.
• Collaborate with the care team to coordinate post-anesthesia recovery.
• Monitor patient status and ensure timely, safe discharge from PACU.
• Maintain clinical competencies and comply with hospital policies.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN)Must maintain current Texas RN LicenseBLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certified
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certified (within 90 days of hire)
• Trauma Certification Course (TNCC, ATLS, TCAR within 1 year of hire)
• Thorough knowledge of airway management and rescue methods
• Pediatric/Adult Phase 1 and Phase 2
• Maintain knowledge of ASPAN standards

• PACU, ICU, ER, or other acceptable acute care experience
