Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a current California License.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Experience in PACU or ambulatory surgery preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual English/Mandarin and/or Cantonese strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives patients from operating room and performs nursing assessment from admission to discharge.
• Performs post-op monitoring including vital signs, cardiac monitoring, pain and consciousness level.
• Identifies arrhythmias and interprets EKG data, initiating nursing interventions per orders.
• Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments; documents interventions and reactions.
• Assists with sterile and non-sterile procedures and post-op interventions as required.
• Provides respiratory support and emergency care, including CPR when necessary.
• Delivers post-op teaching to patients and families about recovery and follow-up care.
• Maintains accurate clinical documentation and infection control procedures.
• Supports daily operations and patient flow in recovery and ambulatory settings.

Description

Astrana Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to be responsible for providing direct patient care for patients undergoing surgical and procedural interventions in an ambulatory surgical setting. The RN performs pre-op, intra-op, and post-op nursing care, conducts patient assessments, administers medications, monitors patient responses and provides patient education. The RN ensures safe and efficient surgical operations in accordance with established protocols and standards of care.

What You'll Do

• Receives patients from operating room or procedure areas and performs nursing assessment upon admission to recovery and up to discharge
• Provides close observation and monitoring of post-op patients, including vital signs, cardiac monitoring, pulse oximetry, respirations, blood pressure, pain level, and level of consciousness
• Identifies cardiac arrhythmias and abnormal clinical findings through monitoring and interprets EKG data as indicated, initiating appropriate nursing interventions per physician or anesthesia orders
• Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered and documents all interventions; observes and responds appropriately to adverse reactions
• Performs or assists physicians with sterile and non-sterile procedures, dressing changes, and post-op interventions as required
• Provides immediate respiratory support or emergency care when necessary, including use of oxygen, suction, AMBU bag, CPR and venipuncture per policy
• Provides post-op teaching and instruction to patients and families regarding recovery, medications, activity restrictions and follow-up care
• Maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation in patient recording, including recovery notes, vital signs, medications, and patient response to treatment
• Recognizes and utilizes safety precautions and infection control procedures, maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe recovery environment
• Maintains knowledge of supplies and equipment, restocking as necessary to support daily operations
• Assists circulating nurse or surgical team with patient flow and post-op coordination as needed

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a current California License
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Previous experience in PACU, recovery room, ambulatory surgery, or acute care preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of post-anesthesia care, patient monitoring, and emergency response
• Effective communicator with strong organization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Highly motivated and able to work with multiple teams simultaneously
• Scheduling flexibility is preferred
• Bilingual English/Mandarin and/or Cantonese strongly preferred

• The base pay range for this role is $43 - $54 per hour. This salary range represents our national target range for this role.
