Job summary

Lifepoint Behavioral Health's Triangle Springs in Raleigh, part of the Lifepoint Behavioral Health network, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Behavioral Health team on a PRN basis. This role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care for patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders, with structured scheduling and supportive leadership.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.
• Behavioral Health or Psychiatric experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• CPI certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing intervention.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

Nurses work closely with interdisciplinary teams to care for patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders. How you’ll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing intervention.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have an active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate degree in nursing required.

Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required within 30 days of hire
• One year of nursing experience preferred
• Behavioral Health or Psychiatric experience preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and de-escalation skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
• Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care
