Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital in White Hall, AR is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our 36-bed inpatient unit on the night shift.

As the on-duty RN, you will provide direct patient care, supervise psychiatric technicians, monitor safety, and coordinate with on-call providers while adhering to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
• Licenses: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse.
• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process.
• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition with care team and family.
• Oversees and supports psychiatric technicians and coordinates unit activities.
• Responds to crises and escalations; acts as overnight clinical decision-maker.
• Collaborates across disciplines for transfers, discharges, and support needs.
• Educates patients and families; advocates for well-being.

Our 36-bed behavioral health unit offers a continuum of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health. On our team you will serve as the psychiatric nurse for an adult inpatient unit on night shift, providing clinical leadership and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in a high-acuity setting. Oversee and support psychiatric technicians, coordinating unit activities, monitoring patient safety, and responding to crises or behavioral escalations as needed. Act as the clinical decision-maker overnight, collaborating with on-call providers and maintaining compliance with policies, standards, and continuity of care.

How you'll contribute

A Behavioral Health RN who excels in this role:

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

• Documents patient care given.

• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

• Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
