Job summary
Lifepoint Health's Starr Regional Medical Center in Tennessee is seeking an RN for the Geropsychiatric unit. The role focuses on comprehensive assessment, planning, and delivery of skilled nursing care in a night-shift, 3x12 schedule with rotating weekends.
You will integrate with a diverse care team to coordinate treatment, document care, educate patients and families, and advocate for patient well-being while supporting hospital goals and community health.
Qualifications
- Current Tennessee Registered Nurse license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
- Nursing license must be in good standing.
Responsibilities
- Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
- Establishes a plan of care appropriate to identified problems and involves the patient.
- Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
- Assesses learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education.
- Acts as advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

$20,000 sign-on bonus available for qualified applicants

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
- Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
- Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
