Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the GeroPsych unit to join a dedicated care team. You will assess patients, plan and implement care, administer medications, document care, and coordinate with physicians and families to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Tennessee Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care in collaboration with the patient and family.
• Delivers plan of care including medications, specimens, and treatments.
• Documents patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Monitors and communicates patient status to the care team and family.
• Assists with activities of daily living and mobility as needed.
• Coordinates care with other disciplines and manages transfers or discharges.
• Educates patient and family about conditions and self-care.
• Advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

Registered Nurse (RN) - GeroPsych

$20,000 sign-on bonus available for qualified applicants

Schedule

3x12 hour shifts one week and 3x12 hour shifts the next week, Nights (7p - 7a), rotating weekends.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.


• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.


• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.


• Documents patient care given.


• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.


• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.


• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.


• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.


• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
