Miami Valley Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Admission/Discharge duties on a PRN schedule. The CN supports patients and families and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team in a high-volume setting.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program with at least 1 year in a critical care environment, Ohio RN license, BLS certification, and BSN preferred. The role is based in Dayton, OH, with 0530-1800 shifts.

• Valid Ohio Registered Nurse License is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.

The clinical nurse (CN) functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Nursing. The CN is responsible for maintaining high standards for a caseload of patients as described by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and evidence-based principles. The CN also coordinates/directs care delivered by the interdisciplinary team. The CN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The CN provides physical, emotional and spiritual support that directly/indirectly impacts the patient outcomes and care provided to patients/ families/ significant others.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred, but if not, must be accepted into a program within 6 months and completed in 3 years.
Licensure: Valid Ohio Registered Nurse License
Certification: Current BLS certification
Experience: Must have experience in a critical care environment or unit (minimum of 1 year)
