Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team ensuring high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by evidence-based practice and the Wellstar Professional Practice Model. RNs uphold the standards outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association.
Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions
- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes: Performs nursing processes, uses evidence-based practice, and coordinates care to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Relationship-Based Patient Care: Provides patient-centered care respecting cultural diversity and involving patients and families in care planning.
- Partnerships: Partners with patients and families using effective communication methods.
- Standards of Practice: Practices according to current clinical standards.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Coordinates care, promotes respectful interdisciplinary communication, and supports performance improvement initiatives.
- Professional Development: Completes competency assessments, mentors others, and models professional nursing practice.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promotes research, participates in data collection, and supports clinical decision-making.
- Resources and Support: Plans for patient care across the continuum and develops protocols in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Minimum Education and Certification
- Associates or Bachelors Nursing preferred.
- RN license (single state or multi-state compact).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience and Skills
- Less than 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Ability to practice according to professional standards and organizational policies.
