Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, part of Inova Health System, seeks an Experienced Registered Nurse for the 4S (IMC/PCU) team. This full-time Night shift runs 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. with 3 twelve-hour shifts.

The role includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible nurses, supporting care in a Progressive/Intermediate Care unit with cardiac, neuro, isolation, dialysis and larger-bed patients.

Qualifications

• RN qualifications required for acute care setting including certification and licensure.
• BSN required; ADN holders must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Virginia RN licensure or eligibility under eNLC; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient health assessments and interpret data sets.
• Formulate individualized care plans based on assessments and trends.
• Provide patient and family centered care
• Advocate for patients’ rights and counsel families.
• Coordinate care and transitions with other disciplines
• Document all patient care activities per standards and assist team

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Experienced Registered Nurse to join our 4S (IMC/PCU) team. This role will be Full-Time, Nights (3- 12 hour shifts) 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for eligible nurses.

The patient population consists of Progressive Care and Intermediate Care - cardiac, neurological, patients who require isolation, dialysis or larger beds. Registered Nurse (RN) 4S (IMC/PCU) Job Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
• Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
• Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation.
• Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care.
• Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate’s degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
• Certification:Currently licensedas a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in: Intermediate Care Unit is strongly preferred. Open to RN experience in Observation/Overflow, ED, PCU, Cardiac Telemetry and Med Surg units.
