MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, is hiring a Clinical Nurse for a 32-bed 1C Acute Geriatrics Medicine unit. This NICHE-certified unit focuses on care for patients 65 and older with diverse medical conditions, guided by nurse-led, evidence-based principles.

About the Job

Unit Highlights

Our 1C Acute Geriatrics Medicine unit has 32 beds and provides care to adult geriatric patients with a variety of medical diagnoses. We are a Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders (NICHE) certified unit, which is focused on the improved care for patients ages 65 and older through nurse-led, evidence-based principles, tools, and education.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
