MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Adult Medical Intermediate Care Unit (2North) seeks a Clinical Nurse to deliver skilled, compassionate care to acutely ill adults in a private-room IMCU setting.

Requirements include ADN/BSN/MSN/CNL, at least one year of acute care RN experience, telemetry experience, and an active DC RN license with BLS. IMC/PCU experience preferred. This role offers competitive pay and comprehensive nursing benefits.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• At least one year of acute care, hospital-based RN experience required.
• Telemetry experience required.
• IMC/PCU/Step-down experience preferred.
• Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.

Join the nursing team on MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Adult Medical Intermediate Care Unit (2North)! We emphasize teamwork, enjoy a fun work environment, and prioritize professional growth.

2 North is an 18-bed adult Medical Intermediate Care Unit with private rooms, which are outfitted with the latest GE beside physiological equipment to monitor continuous cardiac and pulse oximetry. The team utilizes innovative best-practice processes to provide expert care for acutely ill patients with diverse medical diagnoses. Other diagnoses on the unit include but are not limited to end-stage renal disease, liver failure, chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, sepsis, CHF, COPD, and GI bleeds.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
