Job summary

MacMore is seeking a Registered Nurse for a pending contract award with the United States Secret Service Safety, Health & Environmental Programs Division. The position covers Washington, DC or Laurel, MD locations and focuses on occupational health program requirements and clinical evaluations.

The candidate will review medical records, provide leadership, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. A BSN and active licensure are required with COHN/COHN-S preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current, active nursing license in DC, the District of Columbia, PR, or a US territory.
  • COHN/COHN-S certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform medical records review and compare results to USSS medical standards to determine status.
  • Provide leadership and expert advice on Occupational Health program requirements.
  • Secure health history and construct clinical/medical evaluation reports.
  • Perform initial work-ups and determine need for labs, X-rays, or other procedures after consultation.
  • Serve as liaison to USSS leadership and other agencies regarding medical treatment and case management.
  • Perform standard clinical duties: blood draws, urine samples, EKGs, vital signs, hearing/vision tests.

Job description

MacMore is seeking to fill a Registered Nurse position for a pending contract award with the United States Secret Service Safety, Health & Environmental Programs Division.

Location:

Washington, DC or Laurel, MD

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing medical records review and comparing results to USSS medical standards to determine appropriate medical status.
  • Providing leadership, expert advice and direction on Occupational Health program requirements and procedures to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Securing health and medical history from patient's records, research findings and constructing clinical/medical evaluation reports.
  • Performing initial work-up and assessment of patient's care and treatment; determines need for laboratory tests, X-rays, and other medical procedures after consultation with appropriate medical staff.
  • Serving as an agency liaison in responding to information requested by USSS leadership, the Department of Labor, Office of Personnel Management, DHS, etc. regarding employees' medical treatment, disability, and case management.
  • Perform various standard clinical duties as necessary. Examples include but are not limited to the following: Laboratory blood draw, urine specimen collection, performing EKG, obtaining vital signs, conducting hearing and vision tests, etc. Performing medical records review and comparing results to USSS medical standards to determine appropriate medical status.
  • Providing leadership, expert advice and direction on Occupational Health program requirements and procedures to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree; or a graduate or higher-level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
  • Education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program. Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • Licensure requirement: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Certification:

While not required, COHN or COHN-S certification is preferred.
