Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN, BSN) to join a school health program in Spanaway, WA for the 2026–2027 year. The role includes triage, medication administration, and collaboration with educators and families to support student health needs.

Requirements include a WA RN license, BSN, and ESA eligibility; fingerprinting and background checks are required. This is a full-time, on-site position with standard school-year hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State RN license (DOH).
• School Nursing ESA or eligibility required (must have BSN to apply for ESA).
• BSN required.
• Fingerprinting and background check required prior to start.
• Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or public health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage and manage student injuries, illnesses, and chronic conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and IHPs.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
• Communicate with families regarding student health needs.
• Collaborate with school staff, special education teams, and administrators.
• Participate in IEP or 504 plan meetings when appropriate.
• Support health education and wellness initiatives.
• Respond to emergencies and follow school safety protocols.
• Monitor immunization compliance and conduct health screenings as needed.
