Job summary

Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New York is seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift (11PM–7AM). Full or part-time positions available; nurses administer medications, perform assessments, and document care on the designated unit.

The role involves communicating findings to the Charge Nurse and Nursing Supervisor, utilizing nursing theory and infection prevention to deliver quality geriatric care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Licensed & registered in good standing in New York State as an RN.
• Experience with geriatric patients is desirable, but not required.
• Sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, & disabled.
• Cooperation & enthusiasm to create an atmosphere conducive to rehabilitation & growth.
• Knowledge of medical, social, & psychological needs of residents, nursing theory & infection control.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications & treatments to residents; documents appropriately on the assigned nursing unit.
• Reports findings of ongoing observations/assessments to the Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, & Unit Manager.
• Demonstrates knowledge of test/lab values and delivers direct resident care in line with policies and rights.
• Identifies and responds timely to patient concerns/needs.
• Prepares resident assignments considering needs and staff competency; monitors activity flow and ensures ADLs and meals are documented for CNAs.

• NIGHT SHIFT ONLY 11PM - 7AM
• FULL OR PART TIME
• TRAIN TO BE A SUPERVISOR
• THOSE ELIGIBLE FOR AETNA HEALTH INSURANCE 1ST OF THE MONTH AFTER DATE OF HIRE
• Registered Nurse, RN utilizes the nursing process in the care of designated Residents, administers medications & treatments to residents, & documents appropriately on assigned nursing unit
• Registered Nurse, RN reports findings of ongoing observations/assessments to the designated Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, &/or Unit Manager
• Registered Nurse, RN demonstrates knowledge of basic test/lab collection values, deliver direct resident care consistent with the policies/procedures & Resident Bill of Rights, in combination with demonstrated clinical skills/knowledge
• Registered Nurse, RN will identify/respond timely to patient concerns/needs
• Registered Nurse, RN will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills necessary to ensure appropriate quality patient care
• Prepare resident assignments considering the category of needs of the patient & competency of personnel, monitor/evaluate the flow of activity & delivery of patient care provided (positioning, bathing, etc.) & assure documentation records (ADLs, meal intake, etc.) are completed for CNAs
• Is punctual and/or provides proper notification for lateness or absenteeism
