Job summary

Paradigm at Woodwind Lakes in Houston, TX is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our care team. You will provide direct nursing care in accordance with the nurse practice act, state and federal regulations, and facility policies.

You will plan and direct the delivery of each resident's care plan, supervise staff, and ensure privacy and policy compliance while providing CPR and emergency support when needed. ADN or RN license required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license.
• An Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
• 2 years’ Long-Term Care experience preferred.
• Six (6) months rehabilitative/restorative nursing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Point Click Care is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook/Office and Internet.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Develop and supervise daily work and unit assignments, assisting nursing supervisory staff as needed.
• Oversee nursing staff to ensure compliance with standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with the nurse practice act, federal and state regulations, facility policies and procedures, and prudent nursing judgment.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the delivery of a resident’s plan of care in accordance with current physician’s orders, rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities.
• Have knowledge of and utilize the facility’s written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
• Be compliant with the policies and privacy of the facility and each patient.
• Provide prompt emergency support measures, including CPR.
• Develop daily work assignments and unit assignments, and/or assist nursing supervisory staff in completing and performing such tasks.
• Ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
• Ensure that departmental computer workstations left unattended are properly logged off.
• Oversee nurse aides and communication with and oversight of nursing home staff to ensure that specific policies, procedures, and systems are maintained correctly as it relates to the department.
