Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current regulations and facility policies.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses changes in residents' status, notifies the physician and residents' family or representative and documents accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical records and carries out orders as written.
