Job summary

Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department is seeking a RN for a full-time, third shift role in Corbin, KY. The ER offers 28 beds, Level IV trauma designation, and around-the-clock care across all ages with a dedicated fast-track area and behavioral health intake.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and evaluate plans of care, educate patients and families, document status, and respond to emergencies while supervising LPNs, CNAs, techs, unit secretaries, and students.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class as required by department.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; CPR training within first week.
• Glucometer Training.
• TNCC within 6 months

BHCOR-Cor ER I Corbin, KY

Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department (ED) is a Level IV Trauma Designated unit with 28 beds that provides comprehensive, around-the-clock care to patients of all ages. The department treats a wide range of conditions, from non-emergent complaints to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. A dedicated split-flow area supports efficient evaluation and treatment of fast-track patients with lower acuity needs. Additionally, the ED includes a behavioral health intake area designed to safely assess and manage patients presenting with mental health and behavioral health concerns.

Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Must possess the ability to supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

Requirements:

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
• Basic Life Support is required. New employees requiring CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association should receive (CPR) training within the first week of orientation.
• Glucometer Training
• Basic Cardiac Arrythmia within 6 months
• NIH Stroke Certification within 6 months
• 12 Lead within 6 months
• Nurse Wound Care within 30 days
• Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) within 6 months
