Job summary

VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Registered Nurse (Reusable Medical Devices Coordinator). The RN will provide clinical knowledge for processing reusable medical equipment across the facility, ensuring compliance with IFU and industry standards.

The role requires safety, quality, and partnership with Infection Prevention. Ideal candidates have a BSN or equivalent and an active RN license; experience with sterile processing or RMD education is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with active RN license
• BSN preferred with state licensure
• State licensure as RN and ability to obtain/maintain VA credentialing

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process to processing of reusable medical devices (RMD) per IFU
• Provide clinical knowledge for critical, semi-critical, and non-critical RME
• Support quality management, training, and SOP development for RMD programs
• Collaborate with Infection Prevention staff to ensure evidence-based practice in RMD
• Ensure compliance with IAHCSMM, AORN, AMMI, and VHA guidance
• Prefer BSN with 1-2 years in clinical RN or sterile processing/RMD education
