Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Renal Medical department for day shift, full-time. The role focuses on peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis care, with responsibilities teaching families and providing comprehensive nursing support to renal and non-renal patients.

Requires Tennessee RN license and BLS within 1 month of hire; diploma or equivalent licensure. Competitive sign-on bonus and extensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire.
• Diploma from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent licensure.
• 6 months of acute care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learns and performs peritoneal dialysis, providing safe treatment and monitoring patients for complications.
• Manages and supports hemodialysis care, ensuring treatments are delivered correctly and patients are closely monitored.
• Teaches and supports families, educating them on how to care for their family members and recognize signs that need medical attention.
• Provides medical nursing care to both renal and non-renal patients, using clinical skills to support a wide range of patient needs.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• 6 months of acute care nursing experience.
