Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse Rehab to provide direct nursing care within the policy framework and Texas Board of Nursing guidelines. The RN will assess, plan, implement, evaluate and coordinate treatment in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.

The role requires current Texas RN licensure (or Compact State), BCLS, and a BSN (or active enrollment).

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Texas or Compact State.
• BCLS certification.
• Minimum BSN or currently enrolled in BSN program.
• ACLS certification and rehab nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with policies and Texas Board standards.
• Collaborate with patient, family and health care team to plan, implement, evaluate and coordinate treatment.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans in rehab.
• Communicate effectively with the team to ensure quality patient care.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The RN Staff Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the Health Care Team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans.

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS

Current RN licensure in Texas or Compact State and BCLS certified.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum College: BSN or currently enrolled in a BSN program

PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transfer physician’s orders.
• Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs.
• ACLS certification
• Rehab Nursing Experience Preferred
• Effective communication skills, both orally and written
• Computer skills needed
• Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
• Strong problem solving skills
