Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse to support rehabilitation patients under the supervision of an RN. You will follow policy, collaborate with families, and contribute to a team delivering high-quality care.

Required LVN licensure in Texas, BLS, and an Associates Degree; Rehab nursing experience preferred; bilingual English/Spanish encouraged; full-time hours in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transfer physician’s orders.
• Rehab Nursing experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse or Associate Degree required.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of an RN, the LVN staff nurse provides care in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with patient, family and health care team to deliver patient care.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the supervision of an RN, the LVN staff nurse provides carein accordance withpolicies and procedures. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’sfamilyand other members of the health care team, the clinical LVN works under the supervision of a registered nurse in the delivery of patient care.

What qualifications you will need:

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Current LVN Licensure that allows the practice in the state of Texas or Compact state--Required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification --Required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Licensed Vocational Nursing or Associates Degree

PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS,KNOWLEDGEAND ABILITIES:

• Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transfer physician’s orders.
• Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and externalpartnersneeds.
• Rehab Nursing experience preferred
• Effective communication skills, both orally and written
• Computer skills needed
• Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care
• Strongproblem solvingskills
• Uses the FIM instrument to assess patient function level of independence throughout the rehabilitation program
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
