MetroHealth is seeking a PRN RN for the Main Campus Recovery Room/PACU. The role involves caring for pediatric through adult postoperative patients in the immediate recovery phase and post-anesthesia period.

Responsibilities include airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, pain control, wound assessment, and close collaboration with OR/ED/Inpatient teams, anesthesia staff, surgeons, and radiology. Must have Ohio RN license and current BLS; ACLS/PALS within 6 months if not current.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS current or within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Provide recovery room/PACU nursing care for pediatric through adult patients.
• Monitor post-anesthesia patients and maintain airway/stability.
• Assess neuro, central and hemodynamic status and manage pain.
• Coordinate with OR, ED, Inpatient teams, anesthesia, pharmacists.

Bi-weekly Hours: 64.00

Shift: Rotating Shifts; Rotating holidays, Call Requirement

Primary Patient Population:

• Pediatric through Adult
• Immediate post-operative period

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Maintain patient airway
• Assess hemodynamic stability and support
• Monitor sedation, neurological, neuromuscular, and sensory motor status
• Provision of adequate pain and comfort measures
• Assess Wound/incision integrity
• Overall patient assessment

Personnel RN will work with:

• OR/ ED/Inpatient RNs, Pre/Post Phase 2 staff, Anesthesia staff, Surgeons, PT, Radiology, Pharmacy

Number of OR Suites/Cases:

• 26 beds (Bay platform)
• 40-50 surgical cases daily

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
