Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Recovery Room Nurse (RN) to join our operating room team at St. Joseph Medical Center. The RN will support patients recovering from anesthesia across Orthopedics, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, and General Surgeries.

The role emphasizes patient advocacy in PACU, collaboration with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and adherence to standards of care. Full-time days with 12-hour shifts offered.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum one year on the job training.
• CCRN preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process for PACU patients.
• Coordinate post-operative care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physician.
• Collaborate with other departments for quality patient care and efficient flow.
• Adhere to regulations and unit policies; participate in PI activities.

We are seeking a Recovery Room Nurse (RN), to join our growing team. You will be a part of a close-knit, highly collaborative operating room team that assists with Orthopedics, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, and General Surgeries. The Recovery Room RN is an essential member of the perioperative team, who advocates for patients that are under anesthesia and/or sedation

Responsibilities

If you have experience as a Circulating Nurse, Operating Room Nurse or Surgical Nurse you are encouraged to apply!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities inculde but are not limited to:

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all patients within the PACU scope of services.
• The Registered Nurse also coordinates the post-operative care of the patient with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, directs and guides other personnel while maintaining standards of care in the PACU.
• He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology.
• Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization.
• Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
• Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services.
• Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.

2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on the job training.

5. Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.

6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
