Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s Recovery Room Nurse (RN) is sought for the St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO.

You will join a close-knit operating room team supporting Orthopedics, Podiatry, Gastroenterology and General Surgeries, acting as an essential perioperative care provider for anesthesia and recovery. The position is full-time with day shifts, requiring an active RN license, BLS, ACLS within 30 days, and preferred CCRN/BSN.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on the job training.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all patients within the PACU scope of services.
• The Registered Nurse coordinates the post-operative care of the patient with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, directs and guides other personnel while maintaining standards of care in the PACU.
• He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology.
• Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization.
• Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
• Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services.
• Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

You will be a part of a close-knit, highly collaborative operating room team that assists with Orthopedics, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, and General Surgeries. The Recovery Room RN is an essential member of the perioperative team, who advocates for patients that are under anesthesia and/or sedation

Responsibilities

If you have experience as a Circulating Nurse, Operating Room Nurse or Surgical Nurse you are encouraged to apply!
