Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse to join its rapid response team. The role responds to rapid response calls, assists in the ED during high census, and supports nurses across the hospital to stabilize patients.

This full-time position requires a Kansas RN license (or compact), BLS and ACLS, and 2 years of ER/ICU or leadership experience. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Two years of ER/ICU or equivalent leadership experience.
• Kansas RN license or compact licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to rapid response calls, alerts, and code blue arrests hospital-wide.
• Assist ED during high census or high acuity to stabilize patients.
• Serve as a resource, educator, and support for nurses across the hospital.
• Perform preventative rounding on high-risk patients to assess monitoring needs.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Responds to and assists with all rapid response calls, alerts, and code blue arrests within the hospital and as needed for the ED. Performs preventative rounding on high risk patients to assess need for additional monitoring and interventions. Assists in the ED during high census or high acuity peaks to stabilize patients and decompress the ED. Acts as a resource for nurses throughout the hospital as an advocate, educator, and support in patient care.
• Full-time Schedule: 3 12-hr shifts plus rotating weekends.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Two years’ experience in Emergency Room, Intensive Care Nursing, or other prior experience at leadership discretion.
• Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, math, analysis, reading, following instruction, basic computer usage, and care of a critical patient.
• Kansas RN license required or appropriate compact licensure.
• BLS and ACLS required.
