UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking an Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care using the nursing process from admission to discharge.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, coordinating care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with physicians and the care team to ensure safe, effective treatment; this role requires current MA RN licensure and ongoing certification maintenance.

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS certification required for every RN; ACLS/PALS as specified.
• BSN degree highly preferred.

• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other healthcare providers.
• Administers medications, performs treatments, and operates equipment.
• Assists physician with procedures and tests as required.
• Participates in Nursing Governance and professional growth activities.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Position Qualifications:License/Certification/Education:Required:1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.2. BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.Preferred:1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.Experience/Skills:Required:1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.License/Certification/Education:Required:1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.2. BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.3. ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.4. PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.5. NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.Preferred:1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.2. Radiation Oncology experience preferred3.
