Job summary

Novant Health's Pulmonary Progressive Care unit at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC seeks an RN for full-time night shifts (7pm–7am). The role focuses on caring for patients with COPD, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, and other respiratory conditions, with hands-on experience in tracheostomy care, ventilators, CPAP/BIPAP, and chest tubes.

Required: RN licensure in NC and a BSN is preferred; one year of relevant experience is preferable.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in appropriate state (NC) is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred; BSN is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
• Perform focused respiratory assessments and intervene early for escalating oxygen/ventilatory needs.
• Manage specialized skills: tracheostomy and ventilated patient care; CPAP/BIPAP; chest tube management; IV meds and blood products.

What We're Looking For:

• * Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• * Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• * Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.

What You'll Do:

• * Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, influenza, and respiratory failure
• * Perform focused respiratory assessments and intervene early for patients with escalating oxygen and ventilatory needs
• * Manage specialized skills including:
• * Tracheostomy and ventilated patient care
• CPAP/BIPAP and heated high-flow oxygen therapy
• Chest tube management
• Administration of blood products and select IV drips
• * Advanced respiratory assessment and intervention
• * Tracheostomy and ventilated patient management
