Job summary

Novant Health’s Pulmonary Progressive Care unit is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, and pulmonary embolism. You will perform focused respiratory assessments and intervene early for patients with escalating oxygen needs.

You will manage specialized skills such as tracheostomy care, ventilated patients, CPAP/BIPAP, and chest tubes, while collaborating with RTs on the unit to support

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license.
• In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year of acute nursing experience required.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.

• Perform focused respiratory assessments and intervene early for patients with escalating oxygen and ventilatory needs.
• Manage specialized skills including: Tracheostomy and ventilated patient care; CPAP/BIPAP and heated high-flow oxygen therapy; Chest tube management; Administration of blood products and select IV drips.
• Advanced respiratory assessment and intervention.

• Location: Forsyth Medical Center – Winston Salem, NC
