Job summary

Care New England’s Butler Hospital in Providence, RI, seeks a part-time RN to provide direct patient care on the Lippitt 2 Adult Inpatient ITU unit.

You will participate in treatment planning, coordinate care and discharge planning, and respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies while maintaining patient safety and quality care. This role includes serving as Charge Nurse on assigned shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Current Rhode Island nursing license.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning.
• Coordinates psychiatric and/or medical emergencies to ensure patient safety.
• Acts as a team member, assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift.

Provides direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients.
• Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies in such a manner that assures that the individual in crisis is properly cared for and that all other patients are safe.
• Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• B.S.N preferred.
• Current RI nursing license.

Schedule: 32/64 Part Time Days / Every Other Weekend
