- Provide nursing care under general supervision in one of client’s specialty areas, delivering quality care to assigned patients
- Coordinate care and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document their responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
- Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing manifestations and intervening as necessary
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient responses
- Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
- Deliver competent, patient-centered care in the specialty area
- Interact with patients and families to share care plans and provide discharge instructions
- Oversee treatment provided by technicians and other service providers
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and policies
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegate tasks to support staff as necessary
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide excellent specialized care
- May require completion of orientation and the ability to function independently in the assigned specialty area prior to being assigned to this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an accredited program
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire
