Job Summary

• Provide nursing care under general supervision in one of client’s specialty areas, delivering quality care to assigned patients
• Coordinate care and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document their responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing manifestations and intervening as necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient responses
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Deliver competent, patient-centered care in the specialty area
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans and provide discharge instructions
• Oversee treatment provided by technicians and other service providers
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and policies
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as necessary
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide excellent specialized care
• May require completion of orientation and the ability to function independently in the assigned specialty area prior to being assigned to this position
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an accredited program
  
  

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire
