The Registered Nurse assumes primary leadership accountability and responsibility for milieu management and directing patient care activities of other nursing staff. The Registered Nurse maintains standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policy and procedures, external governing and credentialing bodies, performance improvement standards, and psychiatric nursing standards. The Registered Nurse assesses the patient utilizing the nursing process to formulate an individualized plan of care, implements interventions, and evaluates outcomes to promote, maintain, and restore physical and mental health, and prevent illness. The Registered Nurse interprets age/disability-specific information relevant to the client population served. The Registered Nurse provides for the safe delivery of medication according to policies, physician's orders, and current practices. The Registered Nurse is responsible for accurate reporting and documentation of the patient's symptoms, responses, and progress. The nurse also assumes responsibility for professional development, continuing education, and licensure maintenance, all in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, Oceans' Mission, policies, procedures, and Performance Improvement Standards.

Requirements:
Must be able to cope with a high-paced, stressful environment, with potential exposure to odors, sights, and unpredictable patient behavior. Shifts are 12 hours, rotating, with many interruptions and inquiries. The position involves working mostly indoors, with some temperature variations.
