Job summary

BrightStar Care of Denton, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse to care for patients in the Decatur area, focusing on private duty home health and education for prevention and healthy habits.

We are currently seeking PDN RNs to cover 9 am – 3 pm shifts with occasional night shifts; these shifts focus on one client. Competitive pay and benefits support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN license in Texas.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Wound care experience preferred.
• IV Skills and Central Line (PICC/PORT) care required.
• Trach experience required.
• CPR certification and TB test or chest x-ray clear.
• Minimum 1 year in home health/clinic or health facility; 3–5 years preferred.
• Strong nursing assessment skills and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient condition and assess needs for optimal care.
• Perform routine procedures and document charts.
• Adjust medications per physician orders and provide treatments.
• Provide emergency medical care when needed.
• Counsel patients and families on care processes and updates.
• Create a supportive, compassionate care environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
• Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
• Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders
• Provide instant medical care in emergencies
• Counsel client and family through care process while updating the family on a regular basis

Requirements

• Current unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Wound care experience is preferred
• Proficiency in IV Skills and Central Line (PICC/PORT) care is required
• Trach experience is required
• Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
• Minimum one (1) year of documented experience required in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility, preferred. Three to five years is preferred
• Possess exceptional nursing assessment skills
• Analytic/Critical thinker.
• Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance
• Ability to work on weekends, nights and holidays
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
