Job summary

Indiana University Health’s Primary Care team in Nashville, IN seeks a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) with minimum 1 year of RN experience. The role supports a busy ambulatory clinic with four providers and Urology specialists, providing RN triage, nurse visits, and patient rooming.

The RN will float to support clinic flow and coverage during vacations and FMLA leaves, with occasional mileage reimbursement for travel to Bloomington if needed.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• ASN or BSN preferred.
• Active Indiana RN license or a valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license is required.
• Two years of ambulatory care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of clinical procedures and equipment used in the unit/department.
• Ability to coordinate multiple patient-related functions efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Provide RN triage support for patient calls, messages, and clinical concerns.
• Perform nurse visits and assist with patient rooming.
• Help maintain efficient daily clinic operations.
• Float between providers to support clinic flow and coverage during vacations, absences, and FMLA leaves.

This flexible opportunity supports a busy clinic with four primary care providers, including one physician and three nurse practitioners, as well as visiting Urology specialists. In this role, you will provide RN triage support for patient calls, messages, and clinical concerns, perform nurse visits, assist with patient rooming, and help maintain efficient daily clinic operations. The RN will float between providers to support clinic flow and provide coverage during vacations, absences, and FMLA leaves. Located at 100 Maple Leaf Boulevard in Nashville, this position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients while working alongside a supportive care team in a welcoming community. Occasional training in Bloomington may be required with mileage reimbursement provided.

Qualifications

• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN) Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Two years experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
• Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
• Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner.
• Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
• Requires ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.
