Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown in Dallas is seeking a PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous, high-quality care to patients emerging from anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.

The role supports physicians in the OR, uses sterile technique, and collaborates with the care team to evaluate and discharge patients, with a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in Texas.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
• Monitor patients post-anesthesia and sedation; ensure safety and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms and maintain sterile technique.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care from admission to discharge.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
